You may have noticed this site did not ask you to accept cookies. That is because, as a reader, it does not set any that require your permission.
Why there is no cookie banner
Cookie banners are legally required when a site stores things on your device that are not strictly necessary — almost always advertising and tracking cookies. This site has neither. Visitor numbers are counted using Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it does not store anything on your device and does not follow you to other websites.
What is stored, and when
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Spam-check token | Only when you submit a form | Cloudflare Turnstile, to confirm you are not a bot. Strictly necessary. |
| Login session | Only for Skyler, in the private admin area | To keep her logged in. Never set for readers. |
Third-party embeds
If a post ever embeds something from another site — a video, for example — that company may set its own cookies. Where that happens it will be obvious on the page.
